The Best Blog Post Ever

I love the movie "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and have seen it several times. Now I have also read the book for the first time, and it was at least as good.

In one of the scenes, the main character is asked what his favorite book is. When he reveals the answer, he is asked the follow-up question "Why?", to which he replies:

"Because it's the latest one I've read."

I can't say that it's the same for me when it comes to books, but it made me think of a blog post I read recently. It was Annie Mueller's answer to the question "What's your favorite post on your blog?". She replied:

"Always the one I'm writing right now."

What a great answer! I wish I had answered the same when I got that question, because it's true.

I think most bloggers relate to this. Why else would we continue?

It's not because the latest post is the most well-written, or that we have learned new fancy words, or that it got a lot of views.

It's because it's a snapshot. This is where we are and who we are right now.

It's a timestamp, a fingerprint of time.

And it's the best blog post we've ever written.
