It’s okay to quit blogging

I have quit blogging and changed blogging platforms so many times that I’ve lost count. Yet, here I am, blogging.

I used to think it was a bit embarrassing. These days, I don’t. I have no plans to quit, but if I ever do, I’ll feel fine about it.

It seems to me that it has become more common these days for blogs to be born, die, and then resurrect again.

Maybe it’s the vast number of ways we’re able to communicate now. Maybe it’s the speed technology, and the world in general, moves at in modern society. Maybe it’s a bit of both.

No matter what, it’s okay to quit blogging. Just don’t quit for the wrong reasons.

Appear and disappear a thousand times if you need to. Go all in and vanish, never to return, if that feels like the right thing to do.

It’s okay. It’s a blog, a personal log in web format, and it’s yours.

I, and many others, will always be grateful for the thoughts you shared along the way. And if someone feels let down, that’s their problem, not yours.

I often end my posts with “happy blogging”. It’s a reminder as much to myself as to others. Blogging should feel joyful, inspiring, and free of pressure.

If it doesn’t, it’s okay to quit. And it’s equally okay to return, time and again.

Your blog, your rules.
