Short Legs Success

I watched a documentary about the Swedish author Bodil Malmsten. The conversation turned to the mistakes you make in life, and she said:

I have short legs, of course I wish I had long legs. What can you do? It's the same with things you've done, things that were very wrong. You have to find a way to live with them.

That's really what it’s all about. No matter how much we regret something—missed opportunities, something we shouldn't have said, or something we should have done—we can dwell on it endlessly, but it doesn't help. What's done is done.

So should we just repress everything and forget about it?

No, our mistakes are also our best teachers. Making mistakes teaches us to do the right thing. An "oops, I did it again" can help us understand the right path.

Accepting our short legs is a huge step toward success.
